Jets upset Steelers

The New York Jets welcomed the Pittsburgh Steelers to MetLife Stadium hoping to keep up with the then 6-3 Steelers.  By the end of the first quarter, the Jets held a 17-0 advantage.  The Jets defense did the rest of the heavy lifting holding the Steelers to three points in the first half and 10 in the second.  The Jets managed another field goal to end the game 13-20.

“There’s nothing mystical about the outcome of that football game,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. “We talked all week about why that team struggled: because they were minus in the turnover ratio. … Well, they weren’t today. They were plus-4.  You’re going to lose football games when you’re minus-4 in the turnover ratio, and we did today.”

The Steelers will take the week to regroup and hope to bounce back against the (2-7) Tennessee Titans.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so get yours now!

Steelers attempt to regroup against Panthers

After a humiliating 20 point loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers will attempt to add a second victory in the win column this weekend against the undefeated Carolina Panthers who are coming off a win against the Detroit Lions.

The Steelers hope to fix their defensive ailments with stopping the run a priority.  They could take a lesson from the Panthers who lead the NFL with six takeaways while giving up none.

Steelers interested in TE Finley

The demise of Jermichael Finley’s football playing days may just have been a bit exaggerated as the 27 year old Tight End attempts to come back from a bruised spinal cord injury he received in week 7 of the 2013 season against the Cleveland Browns.

“Pittsburgh have showed me a couple deals, but we all know the money ain’t what it’s supposed to be,” Finley said Monday. “If I quit the game right now, I can take tax-free money, and that’s a difficult thing that I’m going through with myself …”

The ‘tax-free’ money Finley referred to is a $10 million insurance policy he would be able cash in if he were to never take another snap.

The Steelers open the preseason on the road against the NFC new York Giants on Saturday August 9th.  Plenty of Great Seats and cheap tickets remain so be sure to get yours now!
